Album

GodWeenSatan: The Oneness is the debut album by American rock band Ween, released on November 16, 1990, by TwinTone Records. The album introduces several key themes for the group, including their eclecticism, gonzo sense of humor, and their demon godmascot, the Boognish. The reissue featured digitally remastered sound, new. Songs in album Ween - god ween satan - the oneness 1990. Ween - You Fucked Up. Ween - Tick. Ween - I'm In The Mood To Move. Ween - I Gots A Weasel. Ween - Mushroom Festival In Hell. At a whopping 23 tracks long, the album features a lot of noodling and lots of whacked-out pop, including Nan, a dweeby tale of unrequited love, and the jazzy Never Squeal, which shows off Ween's musical prowess and versatility. Ween's debut album, God Ween Satan: The Oneness, is a massive, near-overwhelming bombardment of profanity, hard rock riffing, and goofy genre parody. But no matter how absurd Ween are being, they always manage to accomplish a seemingly contradictory task: sounding exactly like every band operating within the genres they attack while sounding only like themselves. Like any 29-song schizophrenic freakout, God Ween Satan is not without its highly questionable moments. Common Bitch is a weaker version of You Fucked Up. Mushroom Festival in Hell gets points for sounding exactly like its name, but also loses points for sounding exactly like its name. Your feedback. God Ween Satan - The Oneness by Ween Year: 1990 Overall rank: 6,147th. Average Rating: 77100 from 86 votes. I'll be completely honest by saying I had no idea what was going on when listening through this album even for the third time through but it was such a strange and interesting journey. The 29-track debut from faux-bros Gene and Dean Ween debases the history of popular music into a nasty lo-fi scuzz while deifying its most outrageous excesses. No archetype is spared their absurdist attack: The rap-rock raunch of Old Queen Cole channels the early Beastie Boys at their most boorish Old Man Thunder skewers Bob Seger in a 19-second micro-satire of Night Moves. Oh Wow, um so this updated to a Europe release? Wow, the U.S didn’t give a damn about ween lp.
DrayLOVE
I just wish Schnitzel would reissue this, preferably with the bonus tracks from the 2001 remaster, along with other Ween albums they haven't put out yet.
GawelleN
It’s weird how this and the mollusk are my favorites, yet they were so hard to find originals at decent prices, they are very fragile to me, I mean I had two reorder because usps cracked mine, the second one kinda has wear I’m not happy with, but whatevs , I mean, I still want a reissue preferably with what you said, bonus tracks, you can’t go wrong with making a reissue worth it with bonus tracks or some gimmicky thing like gatefold, NOW that would be something with this. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! Or let us die sad ???? .....
Unh
unfortunately, schnitzel don't have the rights to this album :(

Soooo, this pressings sqelch the weasel has some distorted CH!! noises. I have TWO pressings of this and I also can never get a decent "puffy cloud" and "old man thunder" without heavy scratchy background noise. (actually found out I do have a scratch on these tracks on both vinyls) Other than that, it has its cool fully . Still wonder if those tracks are even a bother to worry about, very short and minor. Anybody else have this problem with squelch the weasel or the other songs?

Anybody else have this problem with squelch the weasel or the other songs? well, Puffy Cloud is supposed to be quiet, i feel like. even on my phone I gotta turn it way up to really hear it
VAZGINO
The sound quality is decent, unlike other Plain presses. HOWEVER, for a 180g pressing, the sound quality isn't good enough. What the hell is wrong with Plain?
Urtte
I don't think the weight has any impact on sound, just makes it feel "premium", which I guess it's what Plain is lacking
Cordalas
fishjohnwestreject The sound quality is decent, unlike other Plain presses. HOWEVER, for a 180g pressing, the sound quality isn't good enough. What the hell is wrong with Plain? Someone else needs the rights to press Ween vinyl...I have a schnitzel copy of the Pod on double gray vinyl and it is absolutely beautiful sounding (or, at least, as good as The Pod is gonna get)
Watikalate
My copy appears to be this one: same barcode, runout etching, year, label. But mine is 1 Blue and 2 Pink marbled vinyl. Discogs has the 2016 as that color. Am I mixed up or is discogs?
Cointrius
Ok what the heck is up with Plain Recordings? I recently picked up The Mollusk and it is a travesty. Then I remembered I had this record (God Ween Satan on Plain) which I bought in 2010. It's actually really good! Clean and decent sound with lyric insert. So WHY is The Mollusk SO BAD!!?? Why would a company with any integrity and pride in their name release such a terrible product? I want to own Chocolate and Cheese and White Pepper but I don't want to risk buying another piece of crap from Plain and I can't trust reviews on here because everyone just says Plain is garbage by default. So Frustrating
Rrinel
Get the Schnitzel pressing of Chocolate & Cheese.. You'll thank yourself later. However, I have the black vinyl, Plain pressing of White Pepper and it sounds amazing! I was thoroughly impressed, overall, so they're not all bad.
Xtreem
This is the one to get on vinyl. The Plain Recordings pressing is mastered from the CD...
Lilegha
I don't mind this pressing with almost all tracks playing flawlessly except some distortion on squelch the weasel and having alot of pops/clicks on puffy cloud/old man thunder.
Hurus
I wonder if there's a chance that the extended "25th" anniversary edition to be brought over to vinyl (and preferably not by Plain)
Beazerdred
Record sounds good to me, but the jacket is the flimsiest pile of shit i've ever seen, and the labels on the records are creased and peeling off straight out of the wrapper, and the white marble effect on the pink record looks really ugly
Zaryagan
Spot on. Inner sleeves are junk too! I've resleeved them with poly. No label issues but there was some minor flashing that needed to be trimmed from the hole with an Xacto. Pink/white marbling looks pretty on my copy. This Rainbo pressing is a lot better than anything I've gotten from United, that's for sure.
Winenama
I has a HS teached who was in his mid-50s to 60 and one day he showed up in a Ween shirt. Very strange. I think he must have got it for free. I really have no clue why he was wearing a Ween shirt or where he got it from. Real odd. I thought the guy was an asshole. Kind of a mix between a jock and a military sort of guy.
breakingthesystem
I hear ya ...its hard to tell between the two...
Arashilkis
This is basically the best pressing plain has ever pressed. Promise!!
WUNDERKIND
I actually bought this record based on this review...you promised and you delivered! Sounds great
Faezahn
got this today unaware of plain records , i'm impressed the sound and pressing is pretty good i may have got lucky , sounds better than cd for sure but i would'nt pay more than 25 or 30 bucks,
ARE
Yeah, I think Plain is shit, but I had no problems with this one. I got 12 GCG (there was this thing that was pressed on and it was visible to the eye), White Pepper (Stroker Ace would loop on one part), and The Mollusk (shit ton of pops and crackling). They have no quality control, so you're either gonna get a shit press or a good one; there's no in between. All of them was brand new, sealed it came like it out from the get go (go man go)
Ueledavi
is this worth getting? im questioning the fact that this is plain recordings
SiIеnt
plain recordings is an absolute crapshoot. there's like a 50-50 chance you'll get a nice record with no problems or one that pops/skips right out of the box. the sound quality is good, however. people complain about plain sourcing from CDs but i'm pretty sure they don't with ween
Freighton
Brings a tear to me eye that this doesn't have bumble bee pt 2... also puffy cloud is very quiet. No replacement for 1st edition, I suppose
Elildelm
It too, pains me to see no bonus tracks at all for vinyl, yet, I mentioned on my recent comment about having two pressings with distortion on squelch the weasel, makes me question to switch to CD collector instead. lol
Zeus Wooden
Bumblebee Part 2 didn't show up till the reissue, along with "Stacey" and "Hippy Smell". "Wayne's..." and "Marble Tulip..." were always included.
