Album

Miles Davis at Fillmore is a 1970 live album by jazz trumpeter Miles Davis and band, recorded at the Fillmore East, New York City on four consecutive days, June 17 through June 20, 1970, originally released as a double vinyl LP. The performances featured the double keyboard set-up Davis toured with for a few months, with Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea playing electronic organ and Fender Rhodes, respectively. The group opened for Laura Nyro at these performances. Miles Davis At Fillmore: Live At The Fillmore East - Miles Davis. The group now included two keyboards: Chick Corea took over the electric piano and the newcomer Keith Jarrett, in spite of his aversion to electric keyboards, contented himself with a small electric organ, a Fender Contempo. Jarrett, who venerated Miles, went along, very playfully, spicing up the free deliriums of the Corea-Holland-DeJohnette trio, without, however, being able to really participate: the two keyboards were located on opposite sides of the. side 4 is 37 seconds longer than the original pressing, anyone care to comment on the extra content?

This is heavily edited as we all know, but it was issued as Bootleg No.3 in 2014 which is a must have!
Gigafish
I have to wonder if these tracks weren't edited (shortened or extended) from the LP versions, as there is a 5+ minute difference between the shortest LP track and the longest.

Unfortunately my copy was missing LP2 and brought https://www.discogs.com/John-McLaughlin-Featuring-Lifetime-In-Retrospect/release/2018021 LP2 instead... Bummer (though LP1 from this set is still awesome!)
Fearlesshunter
The AMG review downgrades this record because it was pieced together from multiple performances. Who cares? It is an awesome jazz/funk hoodoo.
Cordantrius
Exactly! That was the gist of the review I wanted to write.I own the Japanese "Fatboy" issue and I love it! People who can't afford the expensive Fillmore box set shouldn't worry, this is perfect as it is and as Miles & Teo intended.Honestly I prefer directions without the theme as on live evil and the original 1971 vinyl edit of the isle of wight gig.As well as the funk elements, fans of noise rock and post punk will enjoy the noise rock elements. Under Miles direction Corea was totally nailing the "distorted keyboards as guitar" thing.if you didn't know you'd swear there was a guitarist here.1970 was the year of the WHO's magnificent live at Leeds and this is every bit its equal. The editing is brilliant and cutting each show down to a single side of vinyl gives you a flavor of how the band differed every night, a glimpse of a hard working band keeping it fresh night after night. If you read some of the reviews before buying this you may be tricked onto ignoring it and feeling that you can only appreciate these shows as an expensive box set. Buy it!

Even Bitches Brew was heavily edited and rearranged after the initial performance. Nobody seems to mind that if it's in a studio setting, but when someone edits "live" performances, everyone loses their freaking minds! I agree that this is an amazing listen, and it should carry more weight in Miles' discography.
